DEMAT account is an account opened by any investor with Depository Participant (DP) who wishes to invest in various securities like share, debenture etc. With DEMAT account the certificates are held electronically in the dematerialized form rather than investors taking physical possession of their share certificates.

  • What are the documents required for opening Demat Account?

Following are the required documents for opening an Individual/Institution Demat Account:

 Individuals:

i.          Duly filled up Demat Application Form

ii.         Completed Agreement between DP & Customer

iii.        Self-Certified Copy of Citizenship Certificate

iv.        Passport size photograph

 

Institutions:

i.          Duly filled Demat Application Form

ii.         Completed Agreement between DP & Customer

iii.        Copy of Company Registration Certificate

iv.        Company MOA and AOA

v.         Board Minute for opening Demat Account

vi.        Copy of Tax payment Certificate

vii.       Copy of Permanent Account Number (PAN) Certificate

viii.      Copy of Citizenship Certificate Directors and signatories.

ix.        Passport size photograph of signatories.

x.         Partnership deed in case of a partnership firm
